There is a pirate ship on the prairies. Built by my husband as a playhouse for our twelve grandchildren, this ship is constructed almost entirely of recycled materials. It has a top deck and hold, complete with gunports/windows for four different heights of grandchildren, a large pilot's wheel, a spiral staircase, crow's nest, yardarm and sails. There is even a plank to walk off into the family pool. But to call it a pirate ship may be a bit of a mis-nomer. Our family is famous for serving pie. Thus our ship is really a 'pie-rat' ship. Built for our pie-loving 'rats'.
