West Coast Winter

This photo is a result of a guy trying to scam me into taking photos for him for free while I was out on a photo walk at Sunset Beach in Vancouver. He had just arrived to Canada and spoke with a very heavy European French accent. While I am fluently bilingual, I still had a bit of a hard time understanding him, perhaps in large part, because he was using a fair amount of European slang and phrases which I didn't understand.
At first I understood that he wanted me to take a photo of him with English Bay as the background. But then he said he wanted me to take random photos of the area for him to give to his boss to put on company Christmas cards. I said, "Oh, OK", and proceeded to take several photos, including this one.
When I was done, we exchanged e-mail addresses and went our ways. As soon as I got home, I checked my e-mail and saw that he had already sent me an e-mail asking me to send him the photos. So I told him he would have to pay for them and gave him a price. I never heard from him again. :-)
The photo was taken with a Nikon D200, a Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 lens and a Manfrotto tripod. No filters and no fancy post-production.
